I research the representation of childfree women, exploring how societal narratives shape their experiences, identities, and the discrimination they face. My work also examines the intersections of trauma and discrimination, particularly in how individuals navigate societal stigma and exclusion. Additionally, I investigate the relationship between trauma and memory, analysing how lived experiences of trauma influence personal and collective recollections, ultimately shaping identity and resilience.

This research informs my counselling practice by deepening my understanding of how societal narratives, trauma, and discrimination impact individual well-being. By recognising how past experiences shape memory and identity, I can provide more empathetic, informed, and tailored support, especially for those navigating grief, societal exclusion, or the long-term effects of trauma. It also enables me to challenge harmful stigmas, create a validating therapeutic space, and empower clients in reclaiming their narratives.
